LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 11,
2002--
Advertising agreement with top automaker
strengthens NetDvD's market position for
world-class video-on-demand solutions
Media and Entertainment.com, Inc. (OTCBB:
MEDE), a provider of advanced digital
video and audio solutions for the entertainment
industry, announced today that it has
entered into an agreement with Ford Motor
Company's (NYSE: F) Land Rover, North
America, Inc. to stream Internet commercials
over Ford's Land Rover, North America,
Inc. website. Media and Entertainment's
proprietary software was chosen based
on the superior scalability and performance
of its flagship NetDvD software.
Working with Young & Rubicam, media
representatives for Ford and Land Rover,
Media and Entertainment.com will be utilizing
its proprietary NetDvD software compression
and encoding methodology to enable Land
Rover's advertising campaigns to be streamed
over the Internet. These full length commercials
are currently accessible at Land Rover's
website, www.landrover.com.
"We expect this to be the first
in a growing series of mass media campaigns
to be released in a multi-platform forum
using our proprietary software as a launching
pad," says Roger Paglia, CEO of Media
& Entertainment. "NetDvD should
prove to be a significant source of Media
& Entertainment's revenues. We expect
that growing numbers throughout the advertising/entertainment
industry will appreciate how our state-of-the-art
technology is allowing Range Rover's discriminating
customers to view superb quality commercials
at their leisure directly on the company's
website. That should generate a lot of
interest."
The announcement comes as Media &
Entertainment prepares to roll out its
intelligent file sharing software, Streamshare.
"We are very excited about the revenue
potential Streamshare should hold,"
explains Nana Yalley, CIO, Media &
Entertainment. "We have taken the
necessary precautions to ensure that owners
of content will be protected while utilizing
the best compression software in the industry.
Streamshare incorporates a 4-tier encryption
system as well as a unique compression
algorithm that delivers small file sizes
while maintaining the highest possible
audio and video quality."
Media & Entertainment's unique application
for content distribution and file sharing
among end-users, negates the need for
a robust infrastructure by establishing
a highly tolerable expandable / collapsible
user-based network. NetDvD allows Internet
users to view all types of video online
in a full screen format, with very high
speeds and superb quality. What really
sets NetDvD apart is the fact that all
of this is accomplished at a greatly reduced
cost, since there is no longer any need
for expensive high-speed connections.
NetDvD makes it possible to produce highly
scalable, fault tolerant and fully integrated
streaming of scheduled and live video.
Above all, NetDvD provides broadcasters
with a secure solution to stream content
from source to client.
